Our smokers stand out in maintaining steady temperatures, allowing for a range of cooking styles such as smoking, grilling, roasting, baking, and barbecuing all in one unit. The use of wood pellet fuel imparts a unique and authentic wood-fired flavor to dishes, elevating their overall taste. The convenience of a set-and-forget system means users can enjoy other activities while the smoker automatically handles the cooking process. American Barbecue Systems pellet smokers present a low-maintenance solution for outdoor cooking enthusiasts, reducing the cleanup associated with traditional smokers. In essence, the appeal of using a pellet smoker lies in its simplicity, consistent performance, versatile cooking capabilities, wood-fired flavor enhancement, convenience and efficiency!

For optimal results using your ABS Pellet Smoker, follow these tips and tricks:

#1. Always cook by temperature of your meat when using a pellet smoker, it is a big mistake to solely rely on timing. Use an instant read or wireless temperature gauge for accuracy.

#2. Do not place your food on the edge of the grill – make sure to leave at a one-inch margin for the first inch as well as the last inch of the pellet smoker or your food may cook unevenly.

#3. Clean the thermostat to allow you to get the correct reading on your smoker. You can use a wipe or a steel wool pad to clean the thermostat probe.

#4. Clean the ash pot or firebox before each use – this is where the residue of the ashes gathers from the burnt-up pellets – you can vacuum or dump it out. If you don’t, you will miss out on the actual smoke desired for your meat in the pellet smoker.

#5. Clean the drip track of grease – you can simply wipe out with a paper towel. This will enable the proper function of the smoker.

#6. Wrap the drip plate in aluminum foil before each use. This makes for easy clean up and also proper function of the smoker.

#7. Store quality pellets in either a zipper bag or a five-gallon drum with a lid. This prevents moisture from getting to your pellets so they will function properly in your pellet smoker.

#8. Pre-heat your ABS smoker for 20-30 minutes. Just as you would pre-heat any grill, pre-heating your pellet smoker will ultimately get you the results you desire for your meat.
